American Whitewater presents a new twist on the classic student outing – a California whitewater rafting adventure designed for children and youth seeking an experience so thrilling they will forget that it is educational!

A Splash of History and a Wave of Fun

Whitewater Rafting: This is NOT Your Average Class Trip​Students, youth groups and chaperones alike enjoy the unique surroundings of Coloma as they explore the South and Middle forks of the American River taking in a rich history lesson from their knowledgeable guide; the minimum ages are 6 on the South Fork and 12 on the Middle Fork. More advanced terrains are available to rafters ages 14 and up.

American Whitewater takes pride in enriching the lives of the younger generation and have created a vibrant learning experience that is safe, memorable and FUN. Some of the amenities that student and youth groups, high school sports troops, church groups and any other group of young people can expect include:

  • Access to an exclusive in-ground pool, located within easy access of the campground

All rafters, regardless of age or skill level are fitted with the necessary safety gear.
