Itinerary South Fork American River Whitewater Rafting
Your day whitewater rafting on the South Fork American River
PLEASE NOTE: Except for arrival times, all other times are approximate. South Fork departures depend on the time water is released from the dam.
CHOOSE YOUR SOUTH FORK RIVER TRIP

HALF DAY SOUTH FORK UPPER WHITEWATER RAFTING TRIP |
Where: Chili Bar to Coloma
Length: 6 miles
Class: III
- Camp the night prior to your trip for free.
- Or arrive the morning of your trip by 8:30 AM.
- The Safety Talk is between 8:45 & 9 AM.
- Shuttle to the put-in at Chili Bar.
- Paddle your way through rapids such as Meatgrinder, Triple Threat, and the famous Troublemaker.
- Trip ends below Troublemaker Rapid between 12:00 & 12:30 PM. (Lunch is not included but can be added for $7/person.)
Later departures are available for groups of 12 or more. Please inquire.

ONE DAY SOUTH FORK LOWER GORGE WHITEWATER RAFTING TRIP |
Where: Chili Bar to Salmon Falls
Length: 15 miles
Class: III
- Camp the night prior to your trip for free.
- Or arrive the morning of your trip by 8:30 AM on weekends and 9:30 AM on midweek trips.
- When the Safety Talk is finished you’ll walk a short distance to the put-in.
- Your trip starts just below Troublemaker Rapid.
- A hearty deli-style lunch is served at our riverside lunch site.
- Then you’ll head downstream to the Gorge, a canyon filled with rapids such as Satan’s Cesspool, Bouncing Rock, and Hospital Bar.
- After the last rapid our Honda Jet Ski will tow the rafts across Folsom Lake to the take-out.
- Ice-cold beverages will be provided and our shuttle will take you back to the American Whitewater campsite between 4:00 & 4:30 PM.

2 Night’s Camping & 5 Meals

- 1. Arrive the day before your trip.
- 2. The first day of the trip starts with a hearty breakfast.
- 3. If you are not camping with us please arrive by 8:00 AM for breakfast.
- When the Safety Talk is finished you’ll walk a short distance to the put-in.
- Your trip starts just below Troublemaker Rapid.
- A hearty deli-style lunch is served at our riverside lunch site.
- Then you’ll head downstream to the Gorge, a canyon filled with rapids such as Satan’s Cesspool, Bouncing Rock, and Hospital Bar.
- After the last rapid our Honda Jet Ski will tow the rafts across Folsom Lake to the take-out.
- Ice-cold beverages will be provided and our shuttle will take you back to the American Whitewater campsite between 4:00 & 4:30 PM.
- Enjoy some tasty hors d'oeuvres and free time until we serve a delicious dinner prepared by our experienced Chef.
- After dinner, we present a digital slide show of your raft going through some of the best rapids on the river!
SECOND DAY WHITEWATER RAFTING
- The second day of your river adventure starts with another yummy breakfast.
- Shuttle to the put-in at Chili Bar.
- Paddle your way through rapids such as Meatgrinder, Triple Threat, and the famous Troublemaker.
- Trip ends below Troublemaker Rapid between 12:00 & 12:30 PM
- A satisfying lunch back at camp completes your unforgettable two-day river adventure.

Hi Jon & Nancy,
We had the time of our life!!!!! Have not seen my kids have that much
fun or smile so much in years. My Pa (Marion) said it was the best time
he had in 30 years! The guys were great and the pictures were priceless!
I was never so petrified in my entire life or so exhausted since giving
birth without an epidural.
