Start and end your outdoor day with a great meal

What better way to compliment a fantastic day of rafting than our hearty, delicious food.
Our meals feature fresh produce and top quality beef, chicken, and fish with complimentary ice-cold beer, soft drinks, and American Whitewater's own privately labeled wines with dinner. We invite you to enjoy gourmet dining in a majestic setting accompanied by a generous helping of well-being and camaraderie.

Our Professional Cook
We are very pleased to have Esther Scherf join us again as our Cook. She has over twenty-five years of combined experience in the catering and restaurant business. She has a passion for creativity in the kitchen, preparing delightful, memorable meals. She is organized, a stickler for cleanliness, and will bring originality to our menu.

  BREAKFAST

Middle Fork Breakfast
Due to the early departure time, we offer a Continental-style breakfast consisting of bagels, muffins, yogurt, orange juice and coffee or tea. This breakfast is included with all two-day trips. The cost to add breakfast to a one-day trip is $5.50 per person.

BLUEBERRY PANCAKES
Plump, juicy berries make these hotcakes extra special. Served with hearty sausage links and your choice of syrups: Maple and Blueberry

TORTILLA ESPANOLA (Spanish Omelet)
A Spanish-inspired dish of eggs baked with roasted red peppers, mushrooms, sautéed potatoes, onions, fresh herbs and cheese. Served with sausage links.

TEXAS-STYLE FRENCH TOAST
Thick slices of French bread dipped in our special sherry-laced batter. Served with your choice of syrups, and our healthy potato and veggie scramble with fresh salsa.

BREAKFAST "MUCHO GRANDE" BURITTOS
A generous ensemble of scrambled eggs, refried beans, cheese, veggies, and salsa rolled up in warm tortillas. Served with sizzling sausage & Spanish rice. Ole!

DELI FEAST
Select from a variety of fresh, sliced meats and combine them with Swiss, cheddar, Jack or provolone cheese on large tortilla wraps. Heap with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, sprouts, olives, mushrooms, avocados, and top with three kinds of mustard and other assorted condiments.

SAVORY SOUTHWEST CHICKEN SALAD WRAP
Chunks of tasty grilled chicken breast mixed with red onion, celery, mayo, Chipotle peppers, and a special blend of southwest spices. Served in a wrap with cheese and veggies.

CREATE-YOUR-OWN BURRITO
Fill a flour tortilla with spicy ground beef or tasty marinated chicken along with refried beans, cheese, and veggies. Served with guacamole, salsa, sour cream, and chips.

PEANUT BUTTER & JELLEY (Always Available)
Ground peanut butter with jelly, jam or honey rates as a favorite of all ages.

Lunch is always accompanied by: juice and a variety of tasty cookies or snacks.

You’ve just completed an exhilarating river run and are now ready to kick back, relax, and enjoy nature’s pristine setting.

APPETIZERS
Dinner is preceded by a delicious selection of the following. Fresh vegetables with a variety of dips. Hot bean dip with chips and salsa. Savory Southwest Cheesecake served with tortilla chips.

  • BARBECUED STEAKS & CHICKEN and SEASONED FISH
    Mouth-watering, tender cuts of beef and juicy, marinated chicken grilled on the open pit barbecue and fish seasoned with herbs and spices. Served with corn-on-the-cob, vegetable du jour, baked potatoes, fresh tossed green salad, and garlic or Parmesan butter-fried bread.

  • PRIME RIB OF BEEF
    Slow-cooked tender meat served with garlic potatoes, vegetable du jour, fresh tossed green salad with hot rolls or garlic or Parmesan butter-fried bread.
  • COOK'S SPECIAL PASTA
    Tasty pasta with a variety of fresh ingredients and seasonings. Served with Vegetables du jour, tossed salad, and garlic bread.
  • MEDITERRANEAN CHICKEN
    Barbecued Chicken cooked in a garlic, dijon mustard, balsamic vinegar, honey and olive oil marinade plus Rice Pilaf, Tomato & Onion Salad with sliced tomatoes and finely chopped red onions dressed with garlic, basil, balsamic vinegar, honey and olive oil vinaigrette, and Vegetable du juor. Plus Garlic Bread.
  • BEVERAGES
    Dinner is accompanied by wine from local vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay, three beers on tap including Microbrewery selections from Jack Russell Brewery and Placerville Brewing Company, plus Budweiser as well as name brand soft drinks, and delicious, robust gourmet coffee.

    Only American Whitewater offers you three “on-tap” beer choices with your dinner. From our free-flowing taps we proudly offer the best brew from the Gold Country, Jack Russell Brewery, Placerville Brewery, and the ever-popular, Budweiser. Dinner is also accompanied by wine from local vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

    We also provide an assortment of name brand soft drinks, diet and regular, for those who prefer a non-alcoholic thirst quencher.

For vegetarians we always offer an abundance of fresh fruits, vegetables, and a salad. A basket of fresh, locally grown apples is always available. Other vegetarian items will be made upon request.
