Professional River Guide
Our river staff are world class
whitewater guides with a passion for rafting and kayaking that has taken them
to some of the most adventurous, challenging and picturesque rivers around the
world in countries such as Costa Rica, Honduras, Australia and Canada.
For many years, in addition to our
great guides from here in the United States, our rafters have also enjoyed the
international flavor and cultural experiences provided by our guides from
different countries. You can learn from our guides about the local history of
the Gold Rush Era as well as information about the food, cultural events, river
trips and hikes available in the foreign guide's native countries. We know you
will appreciate the experience and skill of all of our guides as well as
sharing cultural customs with them.
Meet:
Arnie Chandola,
Operations Managers
We are happy to announce that Arnie
Chandola has joined our AWE family as Operations Manager for our raft trips.
With over 15 years of experience on rivers worldwide, Arnie has a stellar river
resume including impressive descents on world-class rivers. He has lived in and
worked on rivers in New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Turkey, Austria, Nepal and India. He
has also guided in Colorado, West Virginia, Montana, Pennsylvania and Idaho. In
the winter Arnie can be found in New Zealand where he guides on the Rangitikei
River.
An extremely competent organizer, Arnie will make sure
all the details for your river adventure are complete both on and off the
river.

Expeditions is Eco-Friendly! We Care!
We are as
‘green’ as we can be. We recycle all aluminum, plastic and glass
bottles, and paper products and use washable plates, cups and silverware to
keep the campground and environment clean. We compost all vegetable matter and
use only diesel vehicles which are very fuel efficient compared to those
powered by gasoline. Please recycle, for we only have the present to save the
future.

actively supports Friends of the River (F.O.R.) through donations, river trips
and gear. You'll find F.O.R. literature at our camp. We also support the
American River Land Trust. |

Happen!
Each year we receive many inquiries from college
students and others seeking summer employment in the rafting industry. We
always need river guides and we invite those with previous rafting experience
to send a resume to us. If you do not have rafting experience, then it is
necessary to go through a guide's school to obtain the proper training.

Just a quick note to say THANK YOU! for
being part of a great family vacation we had this week. My family was with you
on Tuesday and Wednesday for a two day rafting trip and it was everything we
were hoping for!
Jeff was the perfect guide
and is to be complemented for his ability to keep us all entertained and safe.
With our two children (ages 7 and 10) we were concerned that they might be
intimidated by the river and Jeff kept them entertained and interested the
entire trip. He is a credit to your organization.
