California Paragliding

Have you ever found yourself gazing up at the sky, watching in awe as an eagle soars effortlessly on the currents of the thermals? Ever wondered what it would be like to be out there?

Paragliding is the sport that can answer that question for you. Over the last fifteen years, paragliding has become the world’s most popular method of “sharing the air” with eagles. To soar like an eagle has been one of mankind’s oldest and most exciting dreams. Finally, with paragliding, you can make that dream come true!

The Lotus and Coloma area of the American River Valley is one of the best areas to fly above. Beautiful views and serene flying are what this area is known for, climb high above in thermals, often rising to over a mile above sea level.

With no prior paragliding experience, you can soar over the beautiful American River Valley with a professional USHPA Certified Tandem Instructor. With a quick gear orientation and brief pre-flight instruction, you will be soaring above the river and foothills of the Sierras, as passenger, on a truly breathtaking and unforgettable experience.

Tandem California paragliding flights are offered in the late afternoons, after your day on the river, when thermal soaring is at its best. Spend 20 to 30 minutes soaring like an eagle in a tranquil and gorgeous setting. Advance booking is necessary and flights cost $225 per person and include all shuttles from our camp. Give us a call and we’d be happy to answer questions.

The Tandem Paragliding adventure pilot is Mike Fifield. Mike is one of the most experienced and respected paraglider pilots in Northern California. He holds an Advanced Paragliding Rating (P4), USHPA Advanced Instructor Rating, USHPA Tandem Instructor Rating, and an ASC BFI Powered Paragliding Instructor rating. You cannot be in better hands and with hundreds of flights over Coloma, he knows this area well.
